Our Vision

NYAVA is a Professional Organization that has the Respect of the Not-For-Profit, Education and Government Communities and is the Primary Resource for the Volunteer Resources Management Profession in the NYC area and beyond.

Our Mission

To advance and serve the volunteer resources management profession in the New York City area.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

1.To support organizations in fulfilling the full potential of their volunteer resources.
2.To be a member-driven organization dedicated to building a community with opportunities for participation, networking, professional development and career enhancement both within NYAVA and in the volunteer resources management field.
3.To advance the profession by educating executives and leadership volunteers about volunteer resources management and engaging the government, education and corporate sectors.
4.To maintain contact and serve as the link between our membership and other local, national and international volunteer resources management related organizations.
5.To advocate for the importance of volunteers and volunteerism.
NYAVA Committees
Mentors The Mentoring Commitee provides consultations and offers guidance and counseling and acts as a sounding board for new and experienced volunteer administrators. This committee also sponsors quarterly breakfasts for NYAVA Members.
